In Honduras, that craving would have taken five minutes to solve. Sandals on, walk to the pulpería on the corner.

But in Bonn there are no pulperías.

This was a harsh statement, one that had taken me years to assume.

At the core, we all experience the same joys and challenges, seek love and connection, and share the same human desires to learn and unlearn. And more importantly, we all get diarrhea in the same ways.

Speaking out unburdens yourself and lays the responsibility the only place it belongs - the abuser.
